Hurricane season is upon us, and Hawaii Dental Service advises you to be safe and keep smiling. Learn how to be hurricane ready:
1) Make a plan.
As you may have already experienced, hurricanes can strike without warning. Determine a plan in advance to help ease the chaos and panic. Work together with your ‘ohana – compile an evacuation plan and discuss what to do if you’re separated.
2) Get a kit.
Make a kit filled with at least 3 days worth of food and water. Include a first aid kit, flashlight, extra clothing, personal belongings, battery operated radio, and instructions on how to turn off electricity, gas, and water. Don’t forget your toothbrush, floss, and toothpaste.
3) Open your ears.
Keep up-to-date with local news and online resources. Make sure to bookmark a statewide list of Emergency Public Shelters.
Stay safe this hurricane season!
