Honolulu City Lights opens on the first Saturday of December with the lighting of Honolulu’s 50-foot tree. The opening night celebration on December 6th at Honolulu Hale, kicks off a month-long holiday display of trees, wreaths and oversize sculptures. The family-friendly event also includes food booths and a chance to visit with Santa Claus.
Throughout the month, historic Honolulu Hale, the City tree, and civic center grounds are ablaze with colored lights and decorations for the holidays. Sculptural pieces and new tree decorations are featured each year. The tree is lighted nightly at approximately 6 p.m. and lights remain on until dawn.
